It’s taken plenty of work, but the pieces keep settling into place for our team at True North Sports Radio.  This is a chance to start and run our own sports station. Sports are supposed to be entertainment; they are games, even when played at the highest level, meant to be fun for everyone involved. In today’s sports media world, however, that fact is often forgotten; more and more, coverage of teams, games and players devolves into an overly serious, anger-filled debate.
At True North Sports Radio, the joy associated with athletics is incorporated into how the station covers the Northern Ontario sports scene. Our on-air hosts – while possessing more than 60 years of combined experience in youth, high school, and collegiate sports, not to mention over 75+ years as athletes – certainly know the game, able to talk X’s and O’s with anyone in the business, but they also understand that fans are tuning in for a break from reality; they’re paying attention because they want to have a good time and be entertained.
True North Sports Radio is designed with one goal in mind: Be the table at the bar, with one seat reserved for each listener, where everyone wants to be sitting. It’s the group having the most-spirited conversation, enjoying the most laughs and having the most fun; it’s the gathering that everyone wants to be a part of, every day and night.
